Three months ago, Tira Para Fora got started in a very simple way. A Telegram group, a few people, and the desire to create a space where we could meet new people, chat, make friends, and just have a good time. At the time, we didn\u2019t know where this idea would take us. Today, three months later, what began as a single group has turned into a community with nearly 12 groups spread across five platforms, more than 500 members in total, and so many stories that it\u2019s already getting hard to keep track of them all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During these first three months, we also began to realize that a community isn\u2019t built solely through online conversations. You have to step outside the groups, get to know people, and create shared experiences. That\u2019s what led us to organize our first events, and so far, we\u2019ve held five gatherings with community members. Each one was different, but they all had something in common: people who might never have met otherwise had the opportunity to get together, talk, and form new friendships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The most recent one was TPF Close Friends, a four-day gathering that brought together some of the community\u2019s most active members. Those four days ended up being much more than just an event. We went to the beach, went dancing at a local bar, had a barbecue at home, and spent many hours talking until the wee hours of the morning. We also went to Porto Pride and shared several meals prepared by the members themselves. There was no need for elaborate plans for every moment. Often, it was enough just to be together, talk, laugh, and enjoy each other\u2019s company.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And perhaps that\u2019s exactly what made these four days so special. Over the course of that weekend, some relationships that already existed within the community grew even stronger, and others began to blossom into friendships that could last for many years. When people who initially met through a screen end up sitting at the same table, cooking together, chatting for hours, or simply enjoying a day at the beach, you realize that what we\u2019re building is much more than just a collection of online groups. These are real relationships and experiences that stay with us.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While all of this was happening, the community itself continued to grow. In late July, we launched our registration and verification system through the website, taking another step toward improving the community\u2019s organization and security. Today, we already have more than 180 members registered and verified through our system, as part of a community that exceeds 500 members when we combine all our groups and platforms. For us, these numbers are important, but above all, they represent the people behind them. Each member brings their own story, personality, experiences, and reason for being part of Tira Para Fora.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That\u2019s also why we decided to create this section on our website. From now on, we want to start sharing more stories about the community and, above all, about the people who are part of it. We have very talented members, including people involved in journalism, communications, photography, and other creative fields, and we want to give them a space to share what they do best. Over the next few weeks, we\u2019ll start publishing stories, interviews, our members\u2019 experiences, articles about the community, recaps of our events, photography, and much more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This blog will be an extension of what already happens within our groups. A space to show who we are, what we do, and the people who make Tira Para Fora what it is. We want to share the beautiful stories, the funny stories, the unexpected moments, and also talk about the issues that are part of our community and our lives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just three months ago, we were a group on Telegram. Today, we\u2019re hundreds of people spread across different platforms; we\u2019ve already organized five events, and we have many more ideas for the coming months. TPF Close Friends has shown us exactly what we want to continue building: a community where people don\u2019t just stay behind a screen, but where they can meet each other, make friends, share experiences, and\u2014who knows\u2014maybe find some of the people who will remain a part of their lives for many years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
